As to abajan, well, he is just little bent with me and Mel.
We simply do not look at life the way he does, and it bends him all out of shape.
He is a refilling fanatic and Mel and I simply feel that working with a machine the way the designers of said machine say to do so is the way to go.
There are just some people just feel the printer companies are out to screw over all of us.

Alan, as to my printer, I have done well with it.
That is the simple truth.
The plus?
I do not work for HP!
I just have had great experiences with my unit; I am a very pleased customer.

Again Alan, best wishes on your attempt to use the old ink jet from your friend.
When you want to get a nicer machine, look for any of the HPs that use 02 or 38 cartridges.
I have enjoyed my experiences with both types of units.

You're pretty much a crusader yourself, RF, so why don't you cut down on the smugness.

As for the battle of the printers, I use an HP and buy reloaded cartridges, but I'll be trading up because the local Cartridge World won't support the color cart for my printer anymore. If I made more $$$ I'd go for a Canon or Epson and a CISS.

I am actually reading this weekend as well; a book a lady friend recommended, His Cavalry Lady by Joanna Maitland.
It has been a little different than typical Regency novels I have read.
A little "Victor Victoria" like.

I am the same way ... keeping things for a very long time, but more and more we don't have a choice to do that. I remember when we 'made' things in this country and the quality was very good. We hardly make anything now, instead we import junk. When I first shopped for a printer last Fall the thing fell apart while the guy was trying to demo it for me. I left and stopped looking.
