That is a really great layout, and I like how you handled the lighting for the church.

Great looking build Joe, you've got me thinking how I could use lights like that in some of my builds (not sure yet as I don't wanna build most of them raised up like that).

If anyone is looking for lights to use in their builds try looking at Walmart around Halloween and Christmas time, I've seen them there before (actually got my mother a set like that a few years ago for her Christmas village but I got one that runs on AC). You could also try looking in model train shops, I haven't been in one recently but they may have some since some people add lights to the houses around their train models.

@Delta: Thanks. I had mentioned that I was going to try and use a Foamwerks V-groove cutter to cut the runs for the wiring in the foamcore. Well, I bought the V-groove cutter and I couldn't make the cutting head stay down without keeping pressure on top of the cutting head. I figured it was broken so I just cut my V-grooves for the wire runs freehand. I called to ask the customer service people at Foamwerks, but the person I needed to speak to was out of the office. They were supposed to return in a 1/2 hour, so I left a message on their voice mail. Four hours later no call-back, and my daughter needed to go to Hobby Lobby where I bought the V-groove cutter. She offered to exchange it for me, so she took it back. There were no more in stock so they refunded the money to my credit card. Then a little while after she got back I got a return call from the Foamwerks people telling me they were sorry I had problems with the cutter and they were sending me a new one. 3 days later a brands new, free V-groove cutter shows up in the mail. It was exactly like the "broken" one. Apparently you're just supposed to hold the cutting head down by keeping pressure on the top of it. My wife figured that out right away when she saw the replacement one. Oh well, I got great customer service from the Foamwerks people and a free V-groove cutter out of the deal. And I learned how to cut my own v-grooves free-hand. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner as my son says.

@DracRTC: Thanks. After I made my big change to the build by adding the crawlspace and the stairs, I realized I could easily have just put the light kit in the roof section and poked the lights out through the interior ceiling. Those were good tips for alternate sources. Another is dollhouse stuff, but those are very expensive, need transformers, use AC power, and you have to have some knowledge and skill with electrical wiring.

@Gloriar: Thanks. I hope you'll be back to building and bashing soon. Your builds are some of my inspiration.

@LD: No problem. I got back to my apartment and I found the other light set in one of my boxes, it was still in the original package, but the package isn't much help, I'm afraid.
