Yes, another school project rears its head. My 12 year old tells me last week for her science class that she needs to make a diorama of a temperate deciduous forest.

Yes! Another reason to get another WWG kit!!!!

Here we have the completed diorama built into a shoe box for ease of transportation, complete with gigantic animals from Michael’s. I helped with the tiling, but she did all of the shrubbery!



Here we have the cougar cub stalking some fawns.



Here is the wild boar tentatively peering from behind a tree.



But, of course, dad has the irresistible urge to drag out some miniatures…

…and the priest of Bahaumuht faces down the great North American dire megalodon mallard!



Obviously the monstrous dire boar is a danger to the local villagers!



Victory!!!!



No grade yet, she gives her presentation today. A diorama, Power Point, and a pod cast, dang what they make these kids do today!

Very nice! She did a great job on the shrubs, they look better than the ones I made.

WorldWorks does work great for school projects. I bought SeigeWorks a while back for my son to use for a history class. He wants to build the catapult and trebuchet and compare them in his project.

I’ll just put this in here instead of starting a new thread.

Since my kid made all the trees I’ve been itching to make one, but I went ahead and tried an experiment and made a six panel tree out of the simple pine tree buy doubling-up two of them. Worked pretty good, only took a little over half an hour to throw together.

That looks great! The hardest part of the trees for me was the base. Did the addition of 3 extra parts into the base make this noticeably more difficult?

Thanks! Yeah, it was a little tricky, but even with eyeballing the additional 60 degree cut it came out extremely good, with only one exposed bad part that I just covered up with a piece of scrap. When I make some more I’ll probably do a copse made out of an old cd with a standard grass tile on top and eliminate the white glue tabs attached to the tree altogether.
