I know there is the PCON Outpost, I have it and I am building stuff with it. Games Workshop is coming out with Planet Strike. It is a great new way for 40K players to play massive campaigns linking it to the Apocalypse and City Fight rules.

This would be very nice to have.

It would be nice to see a Sci-Fi Fortification set, maybe to go along with Mars Station or PCON or even Something more original but that would fit in nice with those two sets. Fortifications, pill boxes maybe Sci-Fi trench system.

I think it comes back to the want/need of Gothic Sci-Fi texturing - the arches, control panels in lectern style structures - a bucket load of brass, bunished gold and craved stone/cast concrete.

I have been asking for this for a while and was informed that it was a niche style set likened to pulp era props.... the funny thing is that this niche market has stores that cater for it worldwide.

Yes PCON is there and by rights it should be fine but it's styling is not for that gaming world.

I actually have been looking at the Cities of Death Terrain of late to fill that void. I don't want to cough up that cash to GW - note I am happy parting with it for the end result, just I would rather have invested it into WWG to the tune of the same amount that the Cities would have been. I have no love for the 40K system nor would have been using it for that game - AT-43 would be my first port of call then a Chain Reaction Ruleset or the Sci-Fi/Modern Song of Blade & Heroes: Flying Lead.

I would love to see a Mayhemesq series of sets that gives the user to put together a city - a Sci-Fi city. Roads, lamp posts and barricades in one set then Shells of buildings with basic interenal (mirrors of the outsides just without the extra weathering layers) in another. After the basics more complex one-off sets.

It would have been nice to have Mars Station developed but I understand that was for a company's IP so that path couldn't be followed but we need a Sci-Fi city, it's that simple. I know that with PathFinder and the likes it means that manpower is stretched but not having the vision of seeing a table full of uniform builds is disappointing.

To summerise GW worlds are not niche in context to this hobby/industry - to tap this is to tap solar energy.

With the advent of StarCraft 2, Dawn of War I&II and more "interesting" 40K supplements there will be a demand with in our hobby of cities that reflect Sci-Fi Gothic, it is a genre that lends itself to lots of different gaming systems and styles.

Cathedrae Noctis is two scoops of gothic. Plus there's also Mel's stuff.

In terms of supplying to the GW crowd's needs believe me, I hear ya. There is however the looming problem of copyright infringement and the unanswered question of where the line is between style and trademark. Replicating the concepts is easy, getting away with it... now that's tricky.

The resin crowd Quantum Gothic have been doing the 40K IP almost better than Forge World. IP is only infringed when it's a direct copy - not double headed one eyed eagles or stylised skulls. Cathedrae is 60% there, with the use of it (base geometry) coupled with your PCON geometry with some new props (Lampposts, roads and more in flavor control pannels) it is totally doable without stepping on IP infringement.

Other companies also do the 40K style (laser cut MDF terrain) with out any problems.

Just keep away from logos.
