Ok while I have No use for this, I might just buy it becuase it sounds Cool, and I really enjoyed making the Maiden.

This is so very much on my list of things to buy that it is not funny.

Is this going to be a Hellworks release or a Seaworks release? (Not that it matters all that much - either and/or both is good with me.)

Man do I want this. And the sample looks great.

Will this one include a full hull, or a flat base like the maiden?

The geometry will be almost identical to the Maiden, with a few new pieces

It looks radically different from the kitbash that Snizitch was working on last year.

I am not complaining - I am greedy enough that I would buy both! The Maiden remains my favorite set - and certainly the set most likely to fire my imagination.

The Auld Grump, who actually suspects that the Snizitch version may have gone full fathom five....

A villain ship would be terrific, but I hope it doesn't fall into the "skulls and blood splatters everywhere" mold, but if it is I hope there are options to scale it back a bit. I'm all for gore in my games but models become less utilitarian when they look like Khorne The Blood God took a dump on them.

I agree with you there Count Z.

However, if HellWorks3 Celestus Pravatis is anything to go by you might not need to worry. HW3 contains a full set of non-gory pieces and is a full, complete and excellent set like that - if anything, the HellWorks label may hide the fact that it contains a great non-horrific set.
Fingers crossed that this set takes a similar approach.

Hmmm, perhaps a scenario similar to "Ghost Galleon" would be the first thing I would think of. Only I should make it better than the movie.

Though from what I hear anything would be better than the movie.

Edit: Also, will this have gsd files as well? I am debating making a pirate ship in the near future as I never built the Maiden despite owning it. I won't have the time until the summer, though, so this might be a could be the choice for me.

Has the Obsidian Gale been placed on hold? It seems like a long time since you've announced it and less than 15% is completed.

Darn, was kind of hoping that with the new Pirates Movie this might be out, but looks like it has lapsed.

I was really looking forward to this one too...I ended up going with a black and white print of the Maiden. Maybe I will shoot for building a color print of the Maiden this summer to go with it.

I *really* hope that this has not been abandoned.... with this and the maiden you could have massive sea battles! Hopefully it is just being updated to TLX...

With all my heart, I hope that it is not being given the TLX treatment. (Possibilites: Big ships that look like crap. Little ships that look like crap. Medium sized ships that look like crap. Nautical themed buildings that will look just fine, thank you. But for the gods sakes, not TLX ships! Go ahead and use the textures for TLX, but leave the ship a ship!)

I have complete faith that WWG would either do the TLX version well or deside to not do it.
