So I know there's been a lot of speculation and rumor regarding the delay of TerraClips but here's the official story. Wyrd Miniatures press release regarding the delay is accurate; http://www.wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14180 . We can only really reflect those statements by saying that things just weren't up to snuff in terms of final manufacturing quality. Our deepest respect goes out to Wyrd for asserting a very high standard in everything they do. We fully agree with and support the decision.

In terms of timelines I would also like to clear the air as it seems many people are offering various projections regarding when TerraClips will now ship. It all boils down to how quickly we can turn things around at the manufacturing level and as such Wyrd's "Later this year" statement is a safe way of saying; very soon but not yet. We of course all hope for a sooner than later scenario and we will do everything in our power to make that so.

There are a few upsides here but the ones we are most excited about are the improvement in stock thickness and a shift to a satin finish rather than a gloss. Clips will also be further refined. The current product looks great but the end product will look amazing once those issues are dealt with at the manufacturing level.

All of that said, TerraClips had an incredibly strong showing at GenCon and although the product we displayed was essentially demo, the reaction was overwhelmingly positive. The only disappointment was that they couldn't purchase it right there and then.

Nice pics. Glad to see that the gencon demo has generated a great deal of interest if nothing else. Hope WWG can capitalize on that once the reworked product is released.

I'm really impressed by the one sewer tile just hanging out in the air between the two tables. How long to set all that up?

Awesome photos, I bet the folks had a blast playing on it. I think I just found my second StOH booster request. I love the round balcony in the third picture. I also like the interior court yard wall in the photo as well wonder if I can do it with the StOH set.

I was one of the lucky/unlucky ones who got to build the Wyrd demo tables and tournament tables. When these are made to the correct specs, this stuff is going to be crazy good.

To cover a 3x3, you're going to want two sets per level unless you get pretty creative with your walls and make half of the table lower. Then you'll still need two sets, but you could do something cool like a Streets half leading up to a building with a full interior on the other half of the table. This is something I might build and keep set up for a while when I get my sets. The way the roofs, balconies, ramps, and ladders work perfectly. Everything goes together logically.

For all of the kits, there's a pretty good way to work out your builds to avoid wasting time undoing something you didn't really mean to do or found not to work out well. Lay out your floor tiles to get everything working, paying attention to where you intend to put walls. With this as your guide, start planning where walls will be, where the doors are, etc. Lay out the appropriate connectors as you go so you can clip everything together when you're done. Assemble your walls completely, and your floor completely, and then attach the wall sections to the board using the clips you used building the floor. Build catwalks, balconies, and roofs as you see fit.

I can't wait to get my hands on the corrected sets. Even as sagging cardboard from the super high humidity with clips that made things all or nothing, these were impressive. The final versions will be worth the money I'll end up spending on them.

My only real disappointment with these sets is how blatently visible the plastic clips are in most of the pictures. I can see just by that one little thing how the PDF crowd will end up staying loyal, for myself, even with the ease, those being visible wouldn't make me love the sets. I'd enjoy them, but I can add my voice to the hopes that the textures from these sets will also be available in PDF form if Wyrd lets it happen.

I can say I love how this will get the attention of alot of gamers who didn't notice WW's before now and will be more inspired to at least look into the PDF sets on top of grabbing the quick build Terraclips sets Wyrd will be producing.

I see the clips and agree that TLX is just prettier with the anchors blending in a little better, but I'm still sold on the product simply because of the amount of time it saves, really.

I'm also still going to continue building TLX, though. I enjoy it, it's not just motions I go through to have terrain to play with in the end, it's a hobby and one that gives me tons of joy! Also, there's sets in TLX that quite likely will never be available in TCP, but which I absolutely must have! (Stone Speakers, anyone!?)

After our demo manufacturing run we were able to see things first hand and adjust accordingly. The clips you'll see in the end product will be different than the GenCon showing.

We hope to give you guys a really good sense of how the final product will look once we've worked out lingering issues with manufacturing. I think you'll all be pleasantly surprised on a few levels And again, major props to Wyrd Miniatures for adhering to a high standard and sharing our commitment to giving you guys nothing but the best.

It basically means anytime between now and December. The ambiguity is purely based on how quickly the factory can get things turned around now that we've addressed quality concerns.

Thanks Denny. I have left my order in with the supplier and in this current financial climate I am just praying he does not go under in the next 2-3 months LOL. It's tough for small businesses out there.

I've already told my fellow nerds about this product and they all said basically the same thing "oh wow...yeah i'm way too lazy to make this stuff, but I'd plop down the cash for this". and my nerd friends all get Christmas bonuses in November....so hurry up with the manufacturing!

Is TCP still on track for a Christmas release? As the local game store terrain junkie, the Mallifaux players are bugging me for details.

It looks like these might have missed the Holiday rush, but I'd sure like to get my DM a set for his birthday next week. Any update on when these will be available?
