I'll second "Cathedral" works... I've started to put together the set now (I've got about 4 sq feet of bits and suddenly thought this would make a gorgeous monastery (possibly for my Adeptus Astartes or Adeptus Sororitas). So some HUGE stained glass window panels

I'd also like to see a plain wall section with a swing gate in it as an alternative to the gatehouse and possibly a double height gateway/catherdral door.

Some Pillars (or are these available in existing sets).

Sci-fi cross over bits... Observation towers, bunkers instead of hoardings, blast doors [Not thinking 40K here at all - honest - no - not me - never].

I don't know if anyone has asked for it but a another copy of the Ladder with the Black between the rungs removed so it doesn't suck up the ink ( small thing I know but it all helps in the end).

Covered galleries. (These can be run along the outsides of buildings within the castle walls, cheaper, easier and less wasteful of the interior spaces of the buildings is why they were used.)

Covered gallery stairs. (If you think that I just designed a place that uses these then you're right.)

Counterweighted lift stairs. Picture a stairway set up like a drawbridge, so that it can be drawn up to prevent use. I have seen examples in Spanish and Italian castle and monastary pictures, but cannot recall if they have a proper name.

All of the above should be usable with Village Works Ultimate as well, and maybe Interior Works..

A sluice similar to the one in the Two Towers, can be done with a combination of a chunky wall and some transparencies.

Here's my plug for square towers Denny!

And a simple CastleWorks Classic style revamp with CWU textures. I might work on it myself, but being able to build the simpler style gatehouse with your fantabulous new textures would be a nice option.

Well, square towers are on the schedule at least.

Some that I would find useful, but I don't know about other folks - 45% vertically angled walls, so that the walls can go up a hill.

A posetern gate, much smaller than the main gates.

Murder holes.

Like the Grump I have given some thought to sloped walls - allowing the builder to run a wall up or down a hill or cliff face. When you think about were most castles are built it would seem logical to have this option.


I would also like to see risers and ramps so I could build up the inner levels or as stone work trenches. Curved ramps that fit into the curve of the rounded walls would also be needed. With these options the versatility of the set climbs.

On the curved walls I would also like to see catwalks that fit the curve.

An as asked before a non-functional turret to add flavour too the sets’ styling. This could be done in a half turret to sit flush against a wall. A three quarter turret would also be useful as it could be added to a corner. Another extra would be to have a walkway and a catwalk top for the turret – to turn it into a balcony.

Denny can you give us a short list of what has made the cut so far, this way we wouldn't keep repeating ourselves and bugging you.

I'd love to be able to personalize my castles. Examples would be if you wanted to make a more sinister castle, you could put spikes, skulls, patches of blood, evil looking towers, etc. You could include a primative selection, like for a orcish encampment. Another would be for run down or ruined buildings. You could add vines and show that the stone is crumbling in some places (on, say, the battlements). If you are in the middle of the war, ruined sections could be included so you can swap out sections if an area is destroyed.
