High in the mountains, the old fortress had stood for centuries. Impregnable, unconquerable, no army could assail it, no enemy could breach it save one: nature itself. The Great Quake shattered the mountains, the fortress cracked and fell. Abandoned, forgotten, exposed to the elements it waits. Waits for those brave enough to dare enter it's darkened halls and claim the lost treasures within. No easy task to be sure, for the mountains are home to vicious wolves and nomadic tribes of frost goblins, even the elusive Yheti, to say nothing of the spirits of those lost to the Great Quake. In huddled coners and in whispered tones it is said that even greater evils dwell within the lost halls of the Dwarven Kings...

Though I am not a big fan of Dwarves and the walls have quite a bit of Dwarven looking stuff, I can get past it (this is after all the Lost Halls of the Dwarves). It still works for other dungeons. Have built it up three levels and it is quite sturdy. Need to add more pieces to it though, can never get enough.

Excellent for an authentic game of "Dungeons & Dragons" and , although when building it does appear flimsy, once everything is connected it becomes extremely sturdy.

The artwork is superb and with the extra sets (Vault of the Ancients & Treasures and Tombs) it makes for a great table-top game.

This was my first TerrainlinX set, and it allowed me to build out a lot of different dungeons very quickly. I realize this is the Lost Halls of the *Dwarven Kings* set, so even though I can accept using clearly dwarven wall decorations in other environments and look past the slightly out-of-place elements, my young kids sometimes stop to point out that the statue I just described doesn't look like the dwarf on the wall... But that's a really minor ding against an otherwise really well done set. It's really fun to pair this up with something like The Garden or the Hinterland Forest set, hiding the entrance to an ancient tunnel, and the stone floor tiles work just fine as a cellar floor in a Thoumont's build. Well worth the price.

Me and a few buddies were getting back into playing some D&D and these sets are just brilliant. Making very rich looking dungeons really enhances the feel of our games, and the 3"x3" minimum size restriction (3 squares by 3 squares) is nothing but a minor nuisance. For it's price giving you the opportunities to make dungeons as big or as small as your imagination can manage, it's an amazing value.
