Where the Kriegstrom River meets the mouth of the Mysserian Sea, the ancient City of Himmelveil stands watch over distant shores.

Walls, Windows & Floors

Himmelveil Harbormaster’ is a superbly textured and detailed (both inside and out) multi-storied building with several optional components. How many stories? That’s completely up to you! It sits on an optional 3-inch high stonework pier. This model set is a perfect event based location that is equally suited to fantasy, horror and modern gaming scenarios. The only real limit here is your imagination.

The building has two floors with fully detailed interior and exterior. Multiple levels of ornate detail can be added to the windows, ranging from a a quick and easy build, to an elaborate work of cardstock art. In addition, Himmelveil Harbormaster includes all of the following:

The building can sit atop a three inch high pillar, accessible by exterior steps leading to two small platfroms that come in gridded and non-grid variations.

One of the more specific sets - I have used it for the Harbormaster's house as it is designed, and as a train station - fairly similar roles.

It has some very nice features, and the furnishings can be used in a great many settings. The architecture itself is roughly 19th century, and the textures used are very good - the plaster is crumbling in areas, and the wallpaper is peeling. Something tells me that the interior smells a bit of mold and mildew.

Due to a lack of flexibility I am giving it a four out of five stars - while it is a great looking building I cannot justify giving it a full five stars - though I would give it four and a half if the rating system allowed.

What a great set! Lots of options, lots of props, and lots of play value. Beautifully done, and great instructions. I dont play a lot of RPGs, so instead, this one is going to start out with my fantasy Napoleonics games, but I could see this in many skirmish games of different eras and rules sets. WWG does it again.

Now, as I am just a beginner builder of cardstock creations one of the other things that I like are thew number of options that are provided for the windows. You can make leave the windows as basic image on the card, or you can place transparency windows on some or all, or even go (as Paul Senior states) 'hog wild' and construct the more advanced windows bay windows. The choice is completely up to you.

As far as construction goes the model assembles quite easily and can be done by even beginner cardstock modelers. The instructions are easy to understand and I have not had any problems with this model. I cannot think of anything negative to say about this model at this point. The initial release did have some problems but they were patched quickly and made available on the Community Forums (it is regretable that they had problems that needed to be patched, but resaponse time was quick, and the Model Desingers are quick to resolve any issues so I really cannot complain).

I guess the only complaint that I have is that I do not have enough shelf space to properly display this model and really show it off. *smile*
